Leggings belonging to the Scalplock Shirts in the Pitt Rivers Museum Oxford, United Kingdom.

Transcript: These Leggings belong with the Scalplock shirts at the Pitt Rivers Museum. The Leggings are far to fragile to survive the transport process and so were not sent along with the shirts for display. A group of Blackfoot people from the four tribes were in Oxford at the Pitt Rivers attending a conference regarding the shirts and were able to photograph the leggings at that time. These Photo's were taken on March 28, 2011. The photo's were taken by Adrienne Heavy Head and Ryan Heavy Head. Adrienne is the Liaison for the Blackfoot Digital Library. Ryan is the Director of the Kainai Studies Department at Red Crow Community College. A copy of these photo's are held at Red Crow Community College in the Kainai Studies Archives.

Transcript: On March 29, 2011 A group of Blackfoot people from all four tribes travelled to London, England and surveyed the collection at the British Museum storage. The part of the collection surveyed has quill worked scalp lock and weasel tail shirts, a split horn headdress from the Horn Society, a spilt horn headdress from the Brave Dogs Society, two straight up headdress', A shield, a club, a mans saddle, a woman's dress, a Brave Dogs rattle, a toothed necklace and a pair of men's leggings with quill work on them. There is more Blackfoot materials in their collection but these are the item's that were marked as most important to see on this visit.
