Transcript: Carolla Calf Robe is a well known Medicinal plant specialist in Kainai. She is one of the few women left that knows about the local plants and their uses. In these video's Carolla is teaching a Kainai Studies class about the basic's of plant medicine. The plants she talks about are the plants that every Blackfoot person should know and what their general uses are. i.e. the kinds of plants one would use for bandaging a small wound or scrape. What kind of plants would be used to cure a cold etc. These are the kinds of plants that would have been common knowledge in the past much like a first aid kit.
